Message from Dr. Najwa Aaraj,
CEO TII

Quantum computers have the potential to revolutionize the world, promising to perform complex calculations far faster than traditional computers. While the technology may seem complex, it holds the promise of solving real-life problems. However, the rapid advancement in quantum computing also presents a significant cybersecurity threat, particularly to cryptography, as quantum computers could break traditional encryption methods.

As these developments progress, there’s an urgent need to develop secure quantum solutions to protect future data and networks, especially against the “Store Now, Decrypt Later” strategy. The UAE is already making strides in this area, investing in research and development of quantum-era security algorithms. At the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), we are dedicated to advancing next-generation cryptographic and quantum communication technologies to safeguard sensitive information.

Responsible research is about addressing potential concerns proactively. To do this, it is essential to exchange ideas with experts on a global stage such as ‘CyberQ: Security in the Quantum Era’. We are looking forward to gathering with the world’s most prominent pioneers at the forefront of quantum. Together, we drive innovation and are committed to a safe journey forward.
