Dr. Mohammed Al-Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cybersecurity Council, has announced the council’s plan to introduce three new cybersecurity policies by the end of 2024. About UAE Cyber Security Council
In November 2020, the UAE Cabinet approved the establishment of the UAE Cybersecurity Council, tasked with developing a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy and ensuring a secure and resilient cyber infrastructure across the UAE. Chaired by the Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, the council plays a crucial role in shaping a legal and regulatory framework that addresses all forms of cybercrime, safeguards both existing and emerging technologies, and implements a robust ‘National Cyber Incident Response Plan’ to ensure swift and coordinated responses to cyber incidents. The Cybersecurity Council’s vision is to safeguard UAE cyberspace, sustain confidence in the nation’s digital infrastructure and institutions, and foster a cyber-resilient society.
